Quality engineering forms the underpinnings of the continuous integration process, but many Agile and DevOps teams rely on testers to perform quality assurance activities. The shift from quality assurance to quality engineering can be a bumpy road, yet it is the critical factor to effective continuous integration. By building quality in throughout the process, quality engineering enables increased velocity with increased quality.
