API Test Automation Using Open-Source |
These days left shift testing is on demand and to accomplish that, API level test automation brings much more stability to the software product. In this presentation, Debarchan Dash will present techniques of automating the backend APIs of applications. He will share the example of a retail application that ensures testing activities starts at an early phase of software development and suppresses system defects up to 60%. He will show how DevOps way of hooking the framework into a CI/CD model is easy and the most important thing is, all the software used in this approach are free. This approach makes automation set up simpler for complex software for communication and embedded systems. Debarchan Dash Mr. Debarchan Dash is a graduate in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Sambalpur University (India). Since the year 2000, he has worked in organizations like L&T Infotech, Wipro Technologies, Motorola India Pvt ltd and Samsung electronics. In that regard, he has worked in many telecom projects of various domains i.e. Retail, Mobile, Healthcare, ATM, DSL and Multimedia and has successfully delivered multiple high valued test automation frameworks. Mr. Debarchan has a total of 21 years of experience in software industry, where he has developed expertise in API level testing, system testing and test automation. He has also presented QA papers in multiple conferences and received awards and certificates related to his dedication to quality of delivery. Currently he is working as test delivery architect director in Capgemini (Sweden). Setting the right automation strategy, deploying automation tools across various test environments, designing the test strategy, training the engineers to their respective domains are some of his major responsibilities. Apart from his project activities he has been a cricket player in all of his past organizations. He has won many medals, prizes for many corporate tournaments throughout. Apart from cricket some of his interests include playing Synthesizer and Mouth Organ.
